ALINE D'AMBRICOURT
Aline d’Ambricourt was introduced to music at a very early age, first with the piano and then the harpsichord. She also followed scientific studies in Versailles. Aline has organized more than 150 recitals, performing as a soloist on the international stage at festivals and at prestigious venues, such as the Château of Chambord and at Fredensborg Royal Palace at the request of the Queen and Prince Consort of Denmark (2004).
In 2012, she gave a critically acclaimed (in Le Figaro) and widely admired performance at the Bristol Hotel in Paris during the "Biennale des Antiquaires" with two rare instruments. This recital was arranged by the Harpsichord Foundation in Geneva, of which she is the founding president, in an effort to promote and revive this precious and rare musical heritage.
Aline shared the joys of experiencing the Harpsichord, an intimate and romantic instrument, with a wider audience by producing a documentary film entitled “Domenico Scarlatti the Timeless”, shedding light on the history of keyboard instruments for the first time on television. The Scarlatti film will be broadcast on WDR1 until 2019, and on the Stingray channel until 2021.
